VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

They are the vital connection between our organization and the communities we serve, helping us bring our mission to life. Our volunteers offer more than just time—they offer compassion, encouragement, and hope to those facing cancer. Their impact is both powerful and lasting, often forming deep, life-long friendships with the patients they serve and fellow volunteers alike. When you join Angel Wings as a volunteer, you become part of something truly meaningful—a community of kindness, purpose, and support.

Volunteers can help in the following areas...

Transportation & Direct Support

• Serve as a transport driver for the Wheels to Recovery Program (gas / meal compensated)
• Deliver Comfort Goody Bags to clients (at home or to hospitals)
• Make wellness calls for the Cancer Care Pals (CCP) Program (remote support)
• Housecleaning for cancer patients and caregivers
• Spanish speaking volunteers for translating to Spanish speaking clients

Office & Administrative

• Date entry in Argenta computer software
• Filing paper files
• Make copies for various projects
• Tech support
• Assemble mailings
• Organize and maintain the lending library

Events & Fundraising

• Join planning committees
• Event set up, check-in, and clean-up
• Solicit donations or sponsorships from local businesses
• Pass flyers around town and local rural communities
• Host your own fundraiser (Ideas:  Yard sale, book sale, jewelry sale, etc)
• Make homemade pies for the annual Pi-Day fundraiser (March 14)
• Solicit businesses for auction package donations
• Create auction packages

Outreach & Community Engagement

• Represent Angel Wings at fairs, chamber luncheons, and other community events
• Distribute informational resources to local businesses and organizations
• Coordinate a meal train
• Assist in our promotions through public relations and social media (share posts)
• Assistance with annual Horsin' Around event (set up, booth help, horse leading)
• Face painters are needed for 2 of our annual events

Program Development & Special Projects

• Make fleece tie prayer blankets (material can be provided)
• Offer specialized skills (marketing, grant writing, photography, graphic design, etc.)
• Lead support groups, workshops, or classes (e.g., journaling, book club, health and wellness, informational, etc)
• Volunteer coordinator to recruit, track, and organize new and current volunteers
• Blanket inventory manager needed to track and organize fleece blankets 
• Beauticians needed to provide free hair cut and styling for cancer patients as well as wig care, if needed
