Wow, what an amazing turnout for the Idaho Gives & Online Auction Event! We raised more money than we have ever raised for the spring event in the 13 years of Angel Wings existence! AMAZING! So what was the grand total?!
$17,000 ! Our initial goal was $15,000 and we blew that out of the water!
We couldn't have done this without the immense love and support from everyone involved. Local businesses that donated items and money, family, friends, and other community members who also donated. To the volunteers who spent HOURS and HOURS preparing this event. THANK YOU! Without all of you, we would not have successful programs and fundraisers.
We are truly blessed.
Our auction is now officially CLOSED! Thursday, May 6th, we will be processing payments and arranging for shipping and pick up of items. What an exciting event! We look forward to tallying the results and announcing the grand total for this fundraiser event. Check back to find out what the final numbers are! And don't forget to watch our social media pages for the most recent updates and happenings.
This year, for Idaho Gives, we are organizing a HUGE online auction event as our major fundraiser. This event will be accessible to anyone who has access to the internet. As of right now, we are soliciting for donations among individuals, businesses, and organizations. Every little bit helps in our cause! Our goal is to raise $15,000 with this event. Help us make it a successful one!
We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a grant from St. Lukes through their Community Health Improvement Fund! This grant will go towards our "Wheels to Recovery" program. Transporting cancer patients to and from treatments and appointments is a huge piece of the work that we do. Without this program, many people would have no other option to get to their treatments. We are so thankful for this grant.
The global event #GivingTuesday is happening Dec. 1st, 2020! This is the end-of-year chance to get in one last donation before the New Year. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a way to encourage folks to give back to their communities through generosity. Here at Angel Wings Network, we are in need of monetary donations as well as volunteer drivers to transport cancer patients to and from treatment. One or two days per month commitment would help tremendously! Any size monetary donation would also be greatly appreciated because this year has been rough on everyone, including nonprofits. We were unable to do our two major in-person fundraisers this year, which directly impacts our ability to help cancer patients. #GivingTuesday is your chance to help! Click on "how to give" from the homepage of our website or visit us on facebook to use a direct fundraising link.

Please join us the evening of March 25 for a special event hosted by Idaho Public Television.
Idaho Public Television received a grant to provide outreach and local programming around a major six-hour documentary on "Living with Cancer" that will air March 27th at 7:30 p.m. MT on PBS. It’s based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, by Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD. This six-hour, three-part documentary chronicles the 4,000-year effort to understand, treat and ultimately cure cancer.
Cari Hug, A Breast Cancer Patient of 13 years, was featured for her on going journey with cancer. A patient of St. Lukes, MISTI, Fruitland, Mother, Chairman of the Board of Angel Wings Network, and active volunteer, tells her story and much more on how she made a promise with God to let her live till her kids graduation from High School, then she will give back to others. Read more about her story on her web site.
From 6-8 p.m. at the Special Events Center at Boise State, Idaho Public TV is screening clips from the series and providing a unique opportunity for nonprofits to present information about their programs. Angel Wings Network will be participating in this event and we hope to see you there!
In addition, PBS is encouraging people to submit their stories of living with cancer to the national story wall developed by the producers at:http://cancerfilms.org/story-wall/.
